Come Join Us for the 2014 UDL-IRN Summit!

March 6th and 7th in Columbia, Maryland.  #UDL2014

What is the 2014 UDL-IRN Summit?

The UDL Implementation Research Network (UDL-IRN) is hosting a summit focusing on UDL implementation and associated research on March 6 & 7th, 2014 at the Johns Hopkins University Columbia Campus, Columbia, MD (15-20 minutes from the Baltimore Washington Airport). The intent of this summit is to gather practitioners and researchers to discuss the systematic implementation of UDL in pre-school, K-12, and higher education classrooms. The summit will be a unique opportunity to collaborate with a select group of leaders who are actively engaged in UDL implementation efforts.

The 2014 UDL-IRN Summit is Not an Introduction to UDL; It is about the Implementation of UDL.  The 2014 UDL-IRN Summit will bring together educators, educational leaders, university personnel, teacher educators, researchers, and educational developers to learn about the emerging practices and innovative work taking place in Universal Design for Learning (UDL).  Different from a large conference, this year’s Summit is limited to around 100 people.  We believe the size is perfect because it’s large enough to support a diverse range of experiences while being intimate enough to support a very personalized and social experience for participants. The 2-day program includes time for experiencing presentations and interacting with recognized leaders and people involved with on-the-ground implementation and research.  Presentations will cover a range of topics from implementation to research in schools, districts, states/regions, and in university settings.. There’s something for everyone at #UDL2014!

The purpose of the 2014 UDL-IRN Summit is to:

  • Identify and disseminate models of UDL best practices.
  • Identify and disseminate effective implementation tools.
  • Support and expand the UDL implementation research base.
  • Foster increased focus and collaboration around UDL implementation and research.
